I’ve received my 11” MacBook Air last week (Unbelievable peace of a product). It has completely changed the way I work with my laptop and made me more productive. I’ll explain how.
- Mail - I didn’t want to use Mail or a desktop mail client that will start consuming disk space, so I decided to move all my accounts (including company mail) to Gmail. Priority Inbox by Gmail is a real productivity tool. It keeps you focused on the important emails. Searching for emails or information has become an instant operation and saves a lot of time. I recommend everyone to try it.
- Files - being disk space conscious I decided to make use of Dropbox and iDisk more often. So I have all my files in the cloud and I keep only current files that I’m working on and are required daily on the HD.
- Work anywhere - the 11” Air is asking to be carried out all the time. Thanks to the long lasting battery I can work whenever and wherever I want.
- TimeRescue - this has nothing to do with the 11” Air but it helps me concentrate on what I need to do. The software monitors my activities according to pre-defined set goals and will alert me if I’m browsing to much or involved in unproductive activities.
I really like my new MacBook and I’m happy with my purchase. I hope it will help me achieve my quest of being a member of the New Rich…
Starting an online business - how to do it?
I’m a father of three married happily and working in a good job. I like technology, Internet and any thing Apple. I’m also currently on a relocation job away from my home country both physically and culturelly. Recently I’ve started reading these books and blogs about the New Rich (NR) and decided I would want to be one. NR is about doing what is good for you and your family TODAY. Not in the future, not when you retire, TODAY.
So I bought into it. Now I need to implement it.
I will use this platform to document the journey. Hope it will go well.
Now I need to go do my day job so until next time…
